Talking about privacy and the Internet of Things at Webster University Geneva

The week after official launch of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) a conference on privacy and the Internet of Things (IoT) will take place at Webster University in Geneva. I will talk about cybersecurity threats leveraging IoTs, such as massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that were based on IoT malware Mirai, Hajime, Hide’n’Seek and similar. IoT vulnerabilities allowing development and distribution of malware will also be reviewed. We will discuss about gaps in security controls that permit forming of massive IoT based botnets (networks of infected devices). Finally some risk mitigation controls will be presented for individuals as well as for companies.

The conference program and the registration form could be found here.
